The PrimeMate Depositor is SpiritBank's remote deposit capture service. Using a small scanner attached to your desktop computer, you can make commercial deposits without ever leaving your office. It's a fantastic time-saver - and the commercials are cute.
Give us a call; we’ll have his people call your people. Or check out his blog and send him a message!
Steve Scanner is a chimpanzee. Chimps (of the Great Ape families) and monkeys are both primates. The biggest difference is that monkeys have tails and chimps do not.
Fantastic question. I suggest a baseball bat.
Yes, it does matter what direction the check is facing. Regardless of the type of scanner used, the front of the check should always be facing to your right as you insert it into the feeder tray.
If you catch yourself before you transmit the check (or batch of checks) to the bank, you can delete them. If you have already transmitted them to the bank, you must contact the bank and we’ll help you fix it.
Yes, but very carefully. It depends on how badly it is damaged. If all of the vital information is still intact (numbers on the bottom of the check, amounts, customer signature…etc), then you can attempt to scan the check very carefully. If vital information is illegible or missing, you should probably contact the maker and obtain a replacement check.
The scanner requires minimal maintenance. A can of compressed air and some alcohol swabs are all that is needed to keep the scanner clean. Use the compressed air to remove any check debris or dust, and use the alcohol swabs to wipe down the rollers and camera lenses.
Technically, you will be connected to SpiritBank through a secure connection then yadda yadda yadda, we magically receive your deposits. We use 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology, which is the same cryptographic protocol used by the Federal Reserve Bank.
Give us a call and we’ll see at what stage in the deposit process your transaction halted. Then we can make the necessary corrections. As long as you have not transmitted to the bank, the deposit should still be saved on your computer, however, if you are uncomfortable or unsure of the status of the scanning, just delete the file and start over. You can always call SpiritBank for assistance: in OKC (405) 463-5000 or in Tulsa (918) 295-7423.
Try Lysol and Q-tips. I’ve heard that works best.
You must delete the checks and rescan them. If you have a multi-feed scanner that allows you to scan many checks at once, try reducing the number of checks you load into the feeder tray to avoid further piggy backs.
Nope, you can scan as many checks as you like. However, the feeder tray on the scanner will only hold approximately 50 checks at a time.
Bank policy requires that you store your checks in a secure place (locked cabinet or office) for at least 30 days and then shred them. Your company’s internal policy may require that you store them longer, but you should keep them a minimum of 30 days.
